Exiled Out East
Exiled out East is a three-part, female-centric comedy web series about a famed New York Party Planner who commits a very public ‘faux pas’ and is exiled to her Southampton home. She’s given one last shot to climb back up the social ladder by planning a party for the Halitosis Prevention Foundation.
Lights, Camera, Uganda
Welcome to Wakaliwood, the Wakaliga village outside of Uganda’s capital, Kampala, and the birthplace of the over-the-top, no-budget action movies produced by maverick Ugandan filmmaker Isaac Nabwana.
Dubbed the Tarantino of the slums, Isaac has produced 46 feature films in the last 10 years whose inspiration is equal parts 1980s American action movies and Shaw Brothers martial arts films, with a Ugandan twist. The budgets of his films are in the range of $200, and yet Isaac’s homegrown slum “studio” today employs 100+ neighbors and friends from the village working on as many as five productions at once.
